Summary：
Under the background of a new urbanization strategy, the importance and urgency of urban land redevelopment have been highlighted. Developed western countries have accumulated rich experience of land redevelopment in the process of urbanization, which is of great reference value to China. According to the role of stakeholders in the process of redevelopment, this paper summarizes the international experience of land redevelopment as three basic modes: top-down, bottom-up and public-private cooperation, and analyzes the experience of land redevelopment, urban gentrification, and brown land redevelopment. Respecting property rights, attaching importance to industry, public-private partnership, and improving system are the general laws for the success of land redevelopment.
