Summary:

The continuous separation of employment and housing has become the development trend of global metropolis. Taking Beijing as an example, this paper analyzes the characteristics and changes of the relationship between employment and housing. The analysis shows that the JHB index of the existing employment centers in the urban center increases, while the JHB index of the suburbs decreases, which reflects that more residents live in the suburbs and go to the urban center for employment, and the job-housing misplacement aggravates; while the JHB index of some suburban urban centers increases slightly, reflecting the employment attraction of the suburban employment sub-centers. The case study of Beijing shows that while living in the transitional big cities is being dispersed, employment is becoming more concentrated, showing a misplacement pattern of living in the suburbs and still concentrated in the urban center, which is not dissolved cities in the West.
