Summary:
Based on the survey data of industrial enterprises from 2003 to 2008, this paper discusses the characteristics of the geographical distribution of pollution-intensive industries. The study finds that China's pollution-intensive industries are undergoing spatial restructuring, the three major economic zones are constantly shifting out of pollution-intensive industries, Shandong and the central region has become a new agglomeration; light industries are mainly transferred to the central region, and technology-intensive industries are mainly redistributed in the coastal areas. Factor endowments, environmental regulation and globalization have a significant impact on the distribution of pollution intensive industries. Among them, the cost of technology and labor is an important factor affecting the location choice of enterprises; compared with the availability of resource elements, the impact of international market potential on the location of enterprises is more important; environmental regulation and the establishment of pollution enterprises have inverted U-shaped relationship.
