Summary:
Based on China's panel data from 2004 to 2008, this paper studies the relationship between geography and urban land use efficiency by selecting the distance from provincial capital city, neighboring big cities, port cities and neighboring provincial capitals as well as urban geographical factors. It is found that the land use efficiency decreases as the urban spillover effect is not fully exerted, the nearer to the metropolis, the closer to the provincial capital, the better the urban land use efficiency, the less the distance from the provincial capitals, the less obvious the boundary depression, and the nearer to the port cities. Low traffic cost is conducive to acquiring foreign markets and high land use efficiency.
