On June 17, 2025, the online lecture "Asia's Public Welfare Capacity Building Practice: Southeast Asian Mangrove Conservation and the Training of Young Environmental Talent in China" was held. Capacity building is a crucial part of environmental protection, enabling a win-win situation for both environmental protection and social development. This webinar focused on two civil society capacity-building projects in Asia aimed at addressing the region's most severe challenges in climate change and biodiversity loss. Guests shared how their respective organizations carry out related capacity building.

The first guest was Mr. Bambang from Indonesia, who first introduced the key projects currently being carried out by the YAGASU Foundation. Next, he used blue carbon and mangrove conservation projects as case studies, providing detailed introductions to the objectives, methodologies, related activities, and impacts of both projects. Both projects have achieved outstanding results in reducing carbon emissions, promoting biodiversity conservation, and improving local residents' livelihoods. Additionally, the YAGASU Foundation successfully established a coastal carbon sink and biodiversity corridor on the east coast of North Sumatra and Aceh Province, a project recognized by UNCBD as one of the "Global 100+ Biodiversity Cases."

The second guest was Liu Jingyi from Peking University Lincoln Center. She first introduced the form and significance of the "Training the Trainers" program at Peking University Lincoln Center. Then, using the 2023 Training the trainers program held in Huangshan as an example, she explained how the center has designed targeted course content, including course objectives and audiences , partners, and others. Finally, she introduced the highlights and achievements of the 2023 project.
