This research fund is only open to final-year undergraduate students of Peking University.
To encourage and support undergraduate students of Peking University to conduct scientific research related to urban development and land policies, the Peking University-Lincoln Center Undergraduate Research Fund has been established. For the 2025 cycle, the program will continue to fund final-year undergraduates of Peking University to carry out research in fields including urban and regional development, spatial planning, land policies, housing policies, local public finance, environmental policies, as well as land use and carbon mitigation. Each grantee will receive a grant of RMB 5,000.
The Peking University–Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy (hereinafter referred to as the Peking University-Lincoln Center) is jointly founded by Peking University and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, dedicated to talent cultivation and policy research.
Eligibility Criteria
Fully registered final-year undergraduate students of Peking University (expected to graduate in July 2025).
Possess strong independent research capabilities.
Requirements for Research Proposal
Project title, research significance, research content, research objectives, and policy issues to be addressed.
Research methodology.
Distinctive features and innovations of the project.
Work schedule, budget breakdown, and expected research outcomes.

Review Principles
The Peking University-Lincoln Center Undergraduate Research Fund will organize expert reviews of all submitted proposals in accordance with the principles of fairness, impartiality and transparency.
Research topics must fall within the fields of urban and regional development, spatial planning, land management and policy, housing policy, local public finance, environmental policy, or other closely related disciplines.
Reviewers will also assess the applicant’s academic background and research potential.
Application Procedures
Applicants shall submit their research proposals via email to jinj@plc.pku.edu.cn no later than March 31, 2025.
Review results will be published on the official WeChat public account of the Peking University-Lincoln Center by April 15, 2025, and all applicants will be notified individually via email.
In late April 2025, the Peking University-Lincoln Center will sign research agreements with all funded students.
Requirements for Final Research Report
Funded students shall submit a complete final research report by the stipulated deadline, covering the following sections:
Introduction
Literature review of relevant domestic and international studies
Theoretical framework and methodological design of the research
Data sources and explanations
Analysis results and discussion
Policy discussion derived from the research
Conclusions
Administrative Regulations
Funded students’ research progress will be supervised by the Peking University-Lincoln Center. Students shall maintain close communication with the Center and submit regular progress updates in a timely manner.
The final research output shall be submitted to the Peking University-Lincoln Center by June 15, 2025.
All academic papers published with financial support from the Peking University-Lincoln Center Undergraduate Research Fund must carry an acknowledgment stating “Supported by the Peking University-Lincoln Center Undergraduate Research Fund”.
The Peking University–Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy reserves the final right of interpretation of all provisions of this Undergraduate Research Fund program.
