In October 2024, the academic conference Urban Operation and Governance Under High-Quality Development will be held at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. Rooted in the research paradigm of urban science, this conference will rationally discuss the existing problems in China’s urban operation and governance. It empowers urban operation and governance through interdisciplinary integration and technological innovation. Guided by forward-looking new development philosophies, it intends to provide forward-looking policy references for future agendas in China’s high-quality urbanisation via practical urban operation and governance practices.

As a sub-forum of the 2024 Guangdong Social Sciences Academic Annual Conference, this conference will collect and evaluate papers in accordance with the requirements of the annual conference.
03 Paper Submission Requirements
Authors may set paper titles independently. Papers intended to compete for Excellent Papers of the Provincial Social Sciences Annual Conference shall be limited to 8,000 words or fewer. All submissions must comply with academic norms and ethics and shall not have been published previously.
A complete paper shall consist of title, abstract, keywords, name and serial number of research funding projects supporting the paper (if applicable), main text, figures and tables, notes, and references. See the attached document for detailed formatting rules.
Submitted papers must be original unpublished works by the authors. Authors shall bear full legal liability for their manuscripts. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Citations of others’ works must clearly list the authors and source information in the references section.
04 Additional Submission Rules
Submit the complete electronic manuscript in *.doc format to urban_operation@163.com. The email subject shall follow the format: "Conference Submission + Author Name + Paper Title".
Page 1 of the manuscript must state the paper title, author names, affiliated institutions/universities, contact phone numbers and email addresses. Page 2 shall carry the paper title, abstract and keywords without any author information. The main text shall start from Page 3. No information that may reveal the author’s identity or background shall appear from Page 2 onwards.

06 Paper Evaluation
Invited experts will conduct blind peer review solely based on the academic quality of each paper. Remuneration will be provided for selected excellent papers.
With the authors’ consent, excellent papers screened by the expert panel may skip external review and directly enter the final review round of the journal Urban Insight.
Excellent papers selected by this conference are eligible to participate in the overall Excellent Paper selection of the main session of the Guangdong Social Sciences Academic Annual Conference.
