Annual Benefit | Participant Application Notice for Summer Academic Workshop on Ecological Conservation and Spatial Planning

Building an ecological civilization is a long-term fundamental strategy for China’s future development, and territorial spatial planning serves as a core tool to reconcile conflicts between ecological conservation and urban development. To meet the learning demands of young scholars from universities and research institutions as well as industry practitioners, the Peking University–Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy and the School of Public Administration, Huazhong Agricultural University will jointly host the Summer Workshop on Ecological Conservation and Spatial Planning on the campus of Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan from July 22 to 26, 2024 (participant check-in on July 21).
This workshop features expert lectures to deepen participants’ understanding of cutting-edge research and latest practical progress in China’s ecological conservation and spatial planning, field visits to an internationally awarded ecological conservation and utilization planning project, and interactive roundtable discussions with specialists. Application Guidelines

Eligible Participants

Researchers from domestic universities and research institutions, practitioners in relevant fields, and corporate directors of ESG and sustainable development programs. Applicants shall generally hold a master’s or doctoral degree; exceptions may be granted for exceptionally outstanding candidates. A small quota is reserved for senior doctoral students conducting research in related fields.

Fees

No registration fee or workshop fee. Participants shall cover their own travel, accommodation and catering expenses.

  3. Scanned copy of highest degree certificate

  4. Personal statement of purpose (maximum 1,500 Chinese characters)

  5. For current doctoral students: dissertation title and thesis proposal approval document
