Annual Benefit | Preview: Summer Academic Workshop on Ecological Conservation and Spatial Planning

Building an ecological civilization constitutes a long-term fundamental strategy for China’s future development, and territorial spatial planning serves as a vital instrument to reconcile conflicts between ecological conservation and urban development. To meet the learning demands of young scholars from universities and research institutions as well as industry practitioners, the Peking University–Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy and the School of Public Administration, Huazhong Agricultural University will jointly host the Summer Workshop on Ecological Conservation and Spatial Planning on the campus of Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan from July 22 to 26, 2024 (participants check in on July 21).
This workshop will feature expert lectures to deepen participants’ understanding of cutting-edge research and latest practical progress in ecological conservation and spatial planning in China, field visits to an internationally awarded ecological conservation and utilization planning project, and interactive roundtable discussions with distinguished experts.

Eligible Participants

Researchers from domestic universities and research institutions, industry practitioners in relevant fields, and corporate directors of ESG and sustainable development programs. Applicants shall generally hold a master’s or doctoral degree; exceptions may be made for exceptionally outstanding candidates. A small number of spots are reserved for senior doctoral students conducting research in relevant fields.

Activity Fees

No registration fee or workshop fee. Participants shall cover their own travel, accommodation and catering expenses.
