About the Research Grants
The PKU-Lincoln Center runs an ongoing Research Grant Program to support research covering urban land use and policies, public finance and property taxation, housing markets and policies, urban transportation, urban environmental and spatial planning systems, urban infrastructure investment and financing, and related fields. The Center consistently prioritizes empirical research grounded in thorough data and documentary evidence. For the 2022–2023 cycle, special focus is placed on research topics closely linked to urban renewal, spatial planning, healthy cities, housing for low-income households, ecological resource conservation, land use and climate change.
Full-time researchers and scholars based at domestic institutions conducting relevant research are eligible to apply; applicants are generally required to have obtained their doctoral degree no more than 5 years prior to submission. Each grant covers a one-year research period, with funding of 80,000 RMB per project.
About the Thesis Scholarships
The PKU-Lincoln Center also maintains its Thesis Scholarship Program. Eligible applicants are full-time master’s or doctoral students in their second year or above at domestic universities. The proposed research must form the official thesis topic with a formally approved proposal (verified by supervisor’s signature), and applicants must retain full-time student status throughout the funding period.
Accepted research fields include urban economics, land use and policies, territorial spatial planning, public finance, housing policies, environmental policies and healthy cities. Each scholarship supports one year of research, with funding ranging from 30,000 RMB (master’s thesis) to 40,000 RMB (doctoral thesis).
