Announcement | Results of the Review for the 2020-2021 Research Fund and Thesis and Dissertation Fellowship of the Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center

Fellowship Notice

On September 19, 2020, the "2020-2021 Research Fund Proposal Review Meeting" and the "2020-2021 Thesis and Dissertation Fellowship Proposal Review Meeting" of the Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center were held online. The Center invited Professor He Canfei, Dean of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University; Professor Yang Jiawen from the Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University; Associate Professor Liu Zhilin from the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University; Associate Professor Sun Tieshan from the School of Government at Peking University; Researcher Zhu Shengjun from the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University; and Associate Professor Zhao Daxuan from the School of Business at Renmin University of China to form the review panel. After rigorous review, a total of 9 "Research Fund Projects," 3 "Research Fund Projects for Central and Western Regions," and 12 "Thesis and Dissertation Fellowship Projects" were awarded funding this year. Research Fund
The Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center continuously carries out the Research Fund program, supporting research in fields such as urban land use and policy, public finance and property taxation, housing markets and policy, urban transportation, urban environment and spatial planning systems, and urban infrastructure investment and financing. The Center has always emphasized empirical research based on solid materials and data. This year, special attention is given to research topics closely related to China's new round of reforms. In-service researchers and scholars engaged in research in the aforementioned fields in China are eligible to apply, with priority given to researchers who have obtained their doctoral degrees within the last 5 years. The funding period is one year, and the grant amount is RMB 80,000.
Thesis and Dissertation Fellowship
The Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center continuously carries out the Thesis and Dissertation Fellowship program. Applicants must be full-time master's or doctoral students in their second year or above at domestic universities. The applied topic must be for their thesis or dissertation, which must have been formally proposed at the time of application (requiring the advisor's signature for confirmation), and the applicant must remain a full-time student during the project. Research directions for applicants include urban economics, land use and policy, urban and regional planning, public finance and property taxation, urban transportation, housing policy, environmental policy, and sustainable development. The funding period is one year, and the grant amount ranges from RMB 30,000 to RMB 40,000.
