Abstract
Since China’s economic liberalization reforms took off in 1978, various urban and land policy issues have emerged on the local and national levels. This paper briefly examines issues around land, municipal finance, urban development, housing, and ecological conservation, using the working papers funded by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy as a guide to track the development of these policy issues over time. The reference section of this paper constitutes an annotated bibliography of every Lincoln Institute-funded working paper relevant to China. This paper does not cover all working papers entered in the annotated bibliography.
